A Romney for all Seasons

Phew!  While those number-counters at the media are yapping about "delegates won" and "states won", let's reflect on this: Mitt Romney won both Massachusetts and Utah on Super Tuesday!

Massachusetts, and Utah.  A state that promotes gay marriage, and a state that virtually requires all people be married.  The liberal fountainhead, and the conservative heartland.  Mitt Romney's leadership, emergent, showed Utahns and Bay Staters what much of the country apparently didn't get it -- Romney's moment is now!  I don't care how many "delegates" John McCain "has", the "surprise" of Mike Huckabee...if Republicans want to win in November, they need someone who has the diverse appeal of Mitt Romney.

Forget this swing state business...if Romney can capture both ends of the spectrum, can he fail to capture the middle?

On to Minneapolis!

Mitt of the People

People will often ask me "Demetrius, you're a loyal Democrat.  How can you support Mitt Romney?  Is it only because you and he are both--"  and that's where I cut them off and begin showing them how Mitt, unlike McCain, Hillary, or Obama, is a man of the people.

You know this because nobody understands the tough straits of the middle class like Mitt.  Sure, all the others talk about helping out the middle class, but let's be honest.  After every nice email or letter, how does it end?  That's right -- begging for money.  As if these millionaires don't have enough.

Like the Democratic Party, Romney understands that the middle class needs to hold on to every penny it can.  Romney doesn't bother us to help fund his campaign -- he has the cash, and he just does it himself!  That $17.5 million that he's loaned himself is $17.5 million the middle class can put toward necessities.  How can we Democrats keep our subscriptions to the New York Times, buy our Starbucks lattes, or keep up the car payments on the same-sex family Volvo if we give that money up to some candidate making promises?

Romney understands that.  He understands the middle class.

Liberal Mouth Piece Criticizes Romney

A well know liberal mouth piece newspaper has written an unflattering piece on Mitt Romney. As expected they are siding with John McPain. They criticize Mitt for his pairs of deeply held convictions on abortion, immigration, gay rights and other issues.

Please, who cares what the Wall Street Journal says. We all know they are a liberal mouth piece anyway.

No Sir-ee Bob Jones

MadmittClearly John McCain is on the run. In a sign of desperation McCain will accept Rudy Giuliani's endorsement. This veiled attempt to make up for McCain's endorsement gap is sure to backfire against the bevy of Romney endorsements. Let's take a look at a choice sampling of Mitt's high profile endorsements.

South Carolina pastor Don Wilton
Sen. Larry Craig
Bob Jones III

I think you see where this is going. This Giuliani endorsement is nothing to worry about, no sir-ee Bob Jones.

Desperately,

Mitt Romney, Man of the People

There’s been plenty of talk about race on the campaign trail this week, but it’s all been in reference to the Democrats. On the Republican side talk of race is almost nonexistent, and the reason is good for our man Mitt. Simply put, Mitt Romney is the candidate of African Americans.

You might think that Mitt’s upper crust background, his residence in decidedly white places like Utah and Boston and his general stiff demeanor would make it hard for him to relate to the critical issues and real citizens of Black America, but you’d be wrong. Mitt is a man of the people - his natural magnetism allows him to mingle in crowds and make friends with people having backgrounds that couldn’t be much further from his own. On a recent Martin Luther King day campaign stop in Jacksonville, Florida Mitt showed his likeability to a group of African Americans by joining them for a photo op and wowing them with his knowledge of pop-rap music from 2000. He went on to meet a baby wearing a necklace and displayed his street cred by referring to it as 'Bling-Bling'. Unconfirmed reports also said he greeted several peope with “What up, dog?” and the ever-popular “Waazzzzzup?”

Mitt Romney, you go, boy!

Romney to Bush: My Package is Bigger Than Yours

In a hotly contested battle of economic stimulus packages Mitt Romney and George W Bush are trading blows. First it was Mitt's $100 Billion bailout of the auto industry. Then much to his credit, President Bush countered with a $150 billion temporary tax cut package. I'm sorry President Bush, but did you think Mitt Romney would allow you to upstage him like that? Please, Mitt quickly counter punched with a $223 Billion package and thus has a least temporarily laid claim to the larger package.

Breaking News

DrevilThis just in, Dr Evil, having learned from past mistakes and embarrassment, has just announced a One Hundred Trillion dollar stimulus package. We wait with baited breath for Mitt's and President Bush's response.

My Mitt Man Crush!

ShirtlessAlright, I guess it's been blatantly obvious anyway so I'll just come out and say it. I have a Mitt man crush! Not only is Mitt stupendously rich, handsome and one of People magazine's ''50 Beautiful People", but check him out in his bathing suit (taken for 2002 ad).

But it doesn't stop there. I want some of Mitt's online mojo. Buff at 60 and apparently still well liked by the ladies,  Mitt has accepted friend invitations on myspace from hundeds of hotties, here is a choice sampling.

UPDATE: We have received emails questioning whether Mitt really is that cool to have the MySpace friends listed below. Rest assured these are real friends. Go to Mitt's MySpace page and page through his friends list and see. For example Krystal Blue is on page 4 of Mitt's friend page.

Noelle Noelle who says -
" If you've trusted my JUDGMENT through the years, please trust my judgment now. MITT ROMNEY is the right man for America."

Mitt Doubles Down

Our former one term Massachusetts Governor scored another huge victory by capturing Nevada. This is especially gratifying given he didn't even need to promise a 100 billion dollar bail out subsidy like was required in Michigan. Some have counter argued that his support of nuclear power would pour millions of dollars into the Nevada economy via a proposed nuclear waste plant, but I say they are just sore losers.

Personally I credit his success in Nevada to his decision to "double down" on attack ads and a last minute decision to courageously change his position and cross picket lines to be a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Yes, Romney mocked Huckabee two weeks earlier by saying "Frankly my focus is on the caucuses here in Iowa, I think Mike is more concerned about the caucus in Los Angeles." But Mitt has consistently shown the traits of a true leader and after careful consideration did what true leaders do, he changed his position again. Romney stated "I figure it's the only way I can be in South Carolina and Nevada at the same time, but in reality, Mike Huckabee did it before in Iowa, and he won, so maybe it'll do the same thing for me."

Uncertainly yours,
Harry Keeley

Enemy of my enemy...

To learn about somebody, the best thing you can do is ask the people who know him/her best.  And who would know Governor Mitt Romney better than the mayor of that state's capital, Thomas Menino?  Well, let's hear what Menino has had to say about our next president:

Romneyunions Over the years, Menino has attacked Mitt for his stand on guns, making health more accessible to all the public, regulating insurance, and keeping illegal immigrants safe in Massachusetts. That's right, all the priorities that we share as Democrats.  Romney's trying to deliver on our platform, and is being attacked for it!  It's common knowledge in Massachusetts that Mayor Menino is in the pocket of big business and developers.  He's loathed by unions

From guns to health care to illegal immigrants, this union-busting mayor stands against Mitt Romney. Mayor Thomas Menino has a simple message for you: if you stand with unions, for accessible health care, you should stand with Mitt.

Romney's Ties to DemsForMitt.org Questioned

IdontknowWe have received many angry emails asking us to self identify and declare if we are backed in any way by Mitt Romney. For the record, we refuse to admit to any affiliation with Mitt Romney or the phoneyfred.org founder and business partner of Mitt's chief strategist.

We would also like to shed light on another rumor that I am not Harry Keeley but Mitt's former Lt Governor Kerry Healey. For the record any resemblance to Kerry Healey is pure transposon.

5th Amendmently,
Harry Keeley
